Lothian Centre for Independent Living case study

Lothian Centre for Integrated Living screenshot. This was much more than a re-design; it involved a complete overhaul of how the site was organised - and the development of new features such as an Events section, the addition of the 'Grapevine Online' support facility (live chat) and a document library system. The document library system was a bit different from usual as it had to organised so that documents could be added to the correct library section automatically when editing content pages in that section.

A large amount of time was spend discussing the organisation of the content and ensuring that it would be easy to use and uncluttered. There is a lot of information on the site so that wasn't an easy task.

The website only launched recently but the feedback has been very positive from LCIL and users of the site. I worked with the designer Richard Nicodème of Context Design on the layout and graphic elements of the site.

The site uses the latest version of' Quick and Easy Content Management System' (QnECMS) so LCIL staff have complete control of the site content - and can manage it themselves.
